The Saharawi Cause is at the forefront of the priorities of the University of Zimbabwe (Vice Chancellor)

Harare, March 14th, 2014 : The Saharawi Ambassador H.E. Mohammed  Cheij Saleh has received today by the  Vice- chancellor of the University of Zimbabwe  Professor L. M . Nyagura accompanied by the Director of International al Relations Mr. Daniel Chihombori.

During this meeting, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Zimbabwe reaffirmed the consistent position of his country in supporting the legitimate struggle of the Saharawi people, highlighting " .... The President Mugabe and the Government of Zimbabwe remains committed to defend the Saharawi cause and we hope to end the tragedy of the friendly people in the near future " .. he added. " .. The university is working for peace, security and sustainable development in Africa and  to eradicate any kind of hegemony and colonialism .In this context the Saharawi issue is at the forefront of our priorities as the last colony in Africa ... " .
For his part, the Saharawi Ambassador Briefed his interlocutor on  the history of Western Sahara and the last development in  the light of the upcoming meeting of the UN Security Council in April, and the brutal practices committing by the Moroccan authorities against the Saharawi citizens in the occupied territories.

The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, and in this context he Vice-Chancellor of the University of Zimbabwe expressed his will to receive Sahrawi students in various specialties.
