SADR participates to the extraordinary session of AU Ministers of Trade

The Saharawi Minister of Trade, Mr. Abda Cheikh, participated to the extraordinary session of AU Ministers of Trade, taking place on April 27 and 28 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The Saharawi Minister was accompanied by SADR’s Permanent Representative to the AU and Ambassador to Ethiopia, Lamin Baali, and Mrs. Nguia Mohamed Sargou, Saharawi expert in Trade.
The Ministers’ meeting opening this Sunday morning discussed the report of the Experts that took place on 23 to 26th April, which suggested recommendations and issues that need political decisions from AU member States to progress in African Trade.
The Experts’ report, which was discussed today, and will be adopted tomorrow, presented ideas and recommendations about many issues such as:
-         Consideration of Africa’s response and implications of the WTO Bali Outcomes;
-         Consideration of a Report on Africa’s assessment of the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
-         Update on Economic Partnership Agreements
-         Strategic Discussions on the establishment of the Continental Free Trade Area.
The meeting of the ministers was preceded by the Experts meeting from 23rd to 26th April, to which a Saharawi delegation participated including Ms. Enguia Mohamed Sargu, Experts in Trade, accompanied by Ms. Maria IId Saila, Saharawi Diplomat.
