PM demands respect for Saharawi people’s will to freedom and independence

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), May 21, 2015 (SPS) - Prime Minister Abdelkader Taleb Omar on Wednesday called for the respect for the will of the Saharawi people to freedom and independence, adding it is prerequisite for the building of Arab Maghreb.
In a speech delivered on the celebrations marking the 42-year anniversary of the outbreak of armed struggle, PM called the Saharawi people, wherever they might be, to continue the fight so to impose the respect for their will to freedom and independence, in spite of the enemy’s maneuvers with the support of France.
Prime Minister thanked friends of the Saharawi people across the world for their support and solidarity, hailing the concrete measures and advanced positions taken by the Africa Union (AU) on the question of Western Sahara.
He, in this respect, praised the firm, principled continuous position of Algeria, led by President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, felicitating Algeria for the achievements attained both locally and internationally, which made it a key pivotal country in the region.
Hailing the resistance of Saharawi masses in the occupied territory of Western Sahara, Mr. Abdelkader said the Saharawi state has achieved a range of gains in the military, political, administrative, diplomatic and cultural fields.
