Johannesburg, May 28, 2015 (SPS) - Member of the
Pan-African Parliament Ms. Suelma Beiruk of the Saharawi Republic (SADR)
has been re-elected to a second term as vice-president of the
continental parliament, during the elections held Wednesday in
Johannesburg, South Africa.
The election of Saharawi female MP to the post reflects a clear interest shown by the African Union (AU) to the conflict of Western Sahara, illegally occupied by Morocco.
The Pan-African Parliament (PAP) also elected Roger Nkondo Dang of Cameron as president, replacing Bethel Amadi of Nigeria who has led the organization for the past three years. (SPS)
