Arusha (Tanzania) 23 May, 2015 (SPS) – The Sahrawi
Republic participated in the works of African Dialogue Conference on
human rights and justice mechanisms, held May 18-22, in Arusha,
Tanzanian.
The Conference was organized by the African Institute for International Law in cooperation with the African Court for Human and Peoples Rights, and aimed at promoting dialogue to ensure the protection of human and peoples' rights in Africa.
During the session allocated for the national experiences, Secretary-General of the Saharawi Union of jurists, member of the Constitutional Council, Mr. Abba Alhaisen, made an intervention during which he recalled the exceptional situation experienced by the Saharawi people under the occupation by Morocco of parts of the SADR territories, pointing out the efforts of the Sahrawi state in the field of constitutional construction and promotion of human rights.
