Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps) May 6, 2012 (SPS) - The Saharawi people is preparing to celebrate Saturday the 41th anniversary of the establishment of the Polisario Front on May 10, 1973.
The Polisario Front initiated the armed struggle 20 May 1973 contra the Spanish colonialism and continued following the Moroccan invasion in 1975 until the United Nations brokered the sease of fire in 1991 which still in effect.
The Resolution 34/37 approved by the General Assembly of the United Nations on November 21, 1979 recognized the Polisario Front as "the representative of the Sahrawi people." (SPS)
